Ashkenazi Jews, then, yes, but it has to do with religion, with the fact that they are a small community, where the defective gene is common to have to do that too. They are Jews of Eastern European decent. Although it has a different religion or no religion, would still in their genes.

Never heard of a disease, the impact of a religious group over another. It is genetic, but not specific to each race.
